• College Goal Wisconsin Scholarship

College Goal Wisconsin is for students and families to receive assistance filing the FAFSA. College Goal Wisconsin (CGW) is a series of workshops on different days each February around the state, where students and their families receive free professional help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Almost all students are eligible for student financial assistance. Each year, colleges, universities, and technical colleges assist all students (including full-time, part-time, and day and evening students) in finding available funds from federal, state and campus sources to make educational programs affordable. Many students don’t apply for financial aid because they don’t think they’re eligible or because they don’t understand student financial assistance regulations and procedures.

The way to find out if you are eligible is to apply using the FAFSA. It is impossible to determine your eligibility without this document. At the very least you will qualify for a low-interest student loan, but you could also be eligible for grants, scholarships and the work-study program.

By attending College Goal Wisconsin and completing the FAFSA, you will have the necessary financial aid form completed to determine your eligibility for help to pay for college. By completing the FAFSA, you are not committing to enroll in college.

Requirements:

• The scholarship recipient must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
• The scholarship recipient must attend an accredited public or private U.S. not-for-profit institution of higher
  education and enrolled in a program of study that is Title IV eligible.

• Academic Excellence Scholarship

Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded to Wisconsin high school seniors who have the highest grade point average in each public or in private high school throughout the State of Wisconsin. The number of scholarships each high school is eligible for is based on total student enrollment.

In order to receive a scholarship, a student must be enrolled on a full-time basis by September 30th of the academic year following the academic year in which he or she was designated as a scholar, at a participating University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technical College, or independent institution in the State.

The value of the scholarship is $2,250 per year, to be applied towards tuition. Half of the scholarship is funded by the State, while the other half is matched by the institution. Eligibility must not exceed eight semesters.

• Nicolet College Foundation Scholarships

The Nicolet College Foundation accepts scholarship applications during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Scholarships are awarded to help students with the cost of tuition and books. Students enrolling in three to eight credits qualify for a $400 part-time student scholarship and students enrolling full-time in nine or more credits qualify for scholarships which range from $500-$3,000.

You can apply for hundreds of scholarships by completing one online application. While each scholarship has its own criteria, the minimum cumulative GPA to be eligible for scholarships is 2.5. The Nicolet College Foundation strongly encourages current and future students to apply.

• Fund for Wisconsin Scholars Grant (FFWS)

The Fund for Wisconsin Scholars Grant is for full-time Wisconsin resident undergraduate students who graduated from a Wisconsin public high school after June of 2008. Selection criteria are established by the donor, but students must be Pell Grant recipients and have remaining unmet need in order to be eligible. Students may continue to receive the FFWS for up to 10 consecutive semesters.

Eligibility is maintained if adequate academic progress is made, and degree completion is expected. The Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) will randomly identify recipients from a list of eligible students provided by Nicolet College. Maximum grant is $1,800 per year.
