List of  available IOWA scholarships:

  • All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship: Students who do well in high school and demonstrate financial need may be eligible for this scholarship. In order to qualify, students must begin taking college classes within two academic years of high school graduation.
  • Education & Training Voucher (ETV) Grant: Students between the ages of 16-23 who age out of Iowa’s foster care system or Subsidized Guardianship program and students who are adopted after age 16 may be eligible for this federal grant program. The Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Grant provides awards of up to $5,000 per year to students who age out of foster care and students who are adopted after age 16. Grant awards are sent directly to the college or university and can be used to pay for tuition/fees, room/board, book/supplies and personal/living expenses.ETV funds can be used during the summer if the student has not received the entire $5,000 during the prior academic year. Priority for funding will be given to undergraduate students. If funding is available after July 1 of each year, graduate level applicants may be awarded in date-received order. Graduate students need to complete the standard applications and also email the ETV coordinator information on your graduate level program of study.
  • GEAR UP Iowa Scholarship: This scholarship is for students in the stThe GEAR UP Iowa Scholarship provides awards of up to $2,600 per year to students who are part of the GEAR UP Iowa state-wide cohort. Scholarships are sent directly to the college/university that the student is attending and can be used to pay for tuition/fees, room/board, books/supplies, and personal/living expenses while in college. ate-wide GEAR UP Iowa cohort, scheduled to graduate high school in the spring of 2014.
  • Governor Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship: This scholarship recognized outstanding Iowa high school seniors who have actively participated in the Iowa State Fair. Up to ten awards, not to exceed $5,000 per award, will be awarded annually. No student shall receive more than the student’s established financial need. Scholarships are awarded for the recipient’s first year of college only.
  • Iowa National Guard Educational Assistance Program (NGEAP): Iowa National Guard members who attend eligible Iowa colleges and universities can qualify for assistance. Maximum individual awards cannot exceed the current average resident tuition rate at Iowa Regent Universities. National Guard officials have determined that they will pay 100 percent of the average regent tuition rate for the 2016-17 academic year, an amount of $7,108. The Iowa Adjutant General determines eligibility.
  • Iowa Tuition Grant: Students may receive awards for up to four years of full-time, undergraduate study at Iowa’s private colleges and universities. Iowa Tuition Grants are awarded to Iowa residents enrolled at one of Iowa’s eligible private colleges and universities. Priority is given to applicants with the greatest financial need. The statutory maximum award is set at the average Regent tuition and fee rate, although the maximum award for an academic year may be less depending on the funding available and number of projected recipients. Recipients can receive grants for up to four years of full-time, undergraduate study. Part-time students may be eligible for adjusted amounts.
  • Iowa Vocational-Technical Grant: Iowa residents enrolled in vocational-technical or career option programs at Iowa community colleges may qualify for this grant. The maximum award is $900 per year for up to two years of education. Part-time students may be eligible for adjusted amounts.
  • Kibbie Grant (Iowa Skilled Workforce Shortage Tuition Grant): Iowa residents enrolled in specified vocational-technical or career option programs at Iowa community colleges may be eligible for this grant program. The maximum Kibbie Grant award is one-half of the average Iowa community college tuition and mandatory fees per year for up to two years of education. Part-time students may be eligible for prorated amounts.
  • Robert D. Blue Scholarship: Iowa students who demonstrate literary and scholastic ability, exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of character are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. The Robert D. Blue Scholarship, named after the former Iowa governor, provides funds ranging from $500 to $1,000 to Iowa students who demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of character. Applicants for this scholarship can be current high school seniors or students already enrolled at an Iowa college or university.
